Phoenixville's own Colonial Theatre will be hosting the TEDxPhoenixville live event on Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 10am-3pm. We are so excited about our 2012 speaker lineup! Our theme this year is "Your Backyard" and focuses on all things local. From Dean Carlson of Wyebrook Farm in Honey Brook, who practices sustainable farming, to Phoenixville's own Anita Guzman Cordoza, founder of Alianzas de Phoenixville, an organization that works with Orion Communities and does outreach to the Phoenixville Latino community, no less than thirteen speakers will grace our stage and share their lives with us. Tickets will be on sale until October 1at 5pm.
The events begin on Friday night, with five pre-events designed to get you out there to mix and mingle with other TEDxers! Here you will find a list of the Friday night events…please RSVP to attend these wonderfully planned events and get to know each other!
You will find a list of speakers here and here is the speaker schedule.

What is TED?
TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out (in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. www.ted.com
What is TEDx?
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx where x = independently organized TED event. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At TEDxPhoenixville, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection within our unique community. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized. http://www.ted.com/tedx
What is TEDxPhoenixville?
TEDxPhoenixville celebrates the creative, innovative and inspiring happening right here and all around the world. Our objective is to present thought-provoking ideas via an annual day-long event featuring compelling, groundbreaking and even revolutionary speakers and performers. TEDxPhoenixville precedes the live event with monthly salons that educate people about our platform, promote discussion and point us all toward a more engaged and purposeful future.
